Lighting the torch...
My seven year old son is really starting to get into reading and I can't tell you how proud I am of him. He comes home weekly with 100% test scores on his reading assignments and we paper our pantry wall with them to show our pride. Lately, since the weather has turned nice, we have been spending our evenings resting in the hammock (we live in the country btw) and reading to one another. Right now we are reading The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.
I don't really have a purpose for this post other than to brag about my son. It is so awesome to be able to spend this time with him doing something that we both enjoy. Take care everybody. J.M. |

Congrats on your son's achievement! I've been an avid reader all my life, and it started for me even before I entered school. Keep nurturing his interest and when he's ready - introduce him to MR!
P.S. Does he use your Kindle? |

Unfortunately I don't have my Kindle yet. I've already sent my request off to Santa and have dropped a million not so subtle hints to my wife! My son is very good with a computer so I have no doubt that he'll be all over the Kindle. I can't wait!!!!!! |

Terrific news to brighten the day, JM. Kudos and karma to you and the wee man. Best wishes. Neil
PS: We don't carry books specifically for children, but we do publish YAs and we have one series that might interest even a seven-year-old. It's called 'The Petronicus Legacy' (three books so far, the next in spring). You can check them out in the bookstore section of our site (linked below). If you think he'd enjoy them, drop me a line of which format you'd prefer and I'd be more than happy to send them along with our compliments. Cheers.
