Two Questions from a friend about calibre

1) When you convert from any format to epub through calibre, and the copy doesn't come as good as you like it.. how do you fix it? How do you format it properly?

2) When converting to epub, there is formats for sony 505 etc and another for sony 300.. Is there a big difference between the two of them?

TIA

Change the options and convert again. Calibre remembers the conversion options for each book, so you can tweak them until you get what you like.

I'm not familiar with the differences between the Sony devices, but the screen resolution is the principal characteristic of importance for conversions. If those devices have the same screen resolution then there won't be any difference.

If tweaking the Calibre conversion options does not help you could always use Sigil which is a free epub editor to do the final clean-up.

Note that when converting, PDF as the source format gives the worst results and should be avoided if at all possible.
