OpenInkpot for Kindle 3 ?

I've got a K3 pending delivery and I was wondering if there are plans or prospects for OpenInkpot being ultimately available for the K3 ?

I'm an OpenSource developer myself and an electronics engineer specialising in microcontrollers (though mostly Atmel gear)... so, I figure if I can pry the K3 from my wife (it's meant to be a present ) I may have a shot at supplanting the default applications on the K3 [ At least it runs linux ]

Paul.

The OpenInkpot Wiki does not indicate any work in progress on that Kindle, or any Kindle except the DX.

Ah my wrong there - I misread the 'status' column in my haste and assumed they had already supported K1, 2. Sorry about that.

I'm seriously considering buying a Kindle 3 and working on porting OI to it. With two of us hacking on it we would get somewhere even faster I suspect.

Susan,

It'd be a project I'd be interested in - the trouble is I'm not sure my wife would approve I may well have to buy _another_ K3 just for the purpose of developing OI.

Heh. I'm still squirreling away money for one, though I really only decided on it recently.

Hey, if you want to get any help with porting OI to K3, just drop down to our IRC channel. Here you will find wide selection of grumpy and shy, but quite useful people who know a lot about kernel stuff
