Firmware version in shipped K3? Should we expect v3 for KDXG soon?

I wonder which firmware version will be present in shipped K3s. Do you people think we should expect v3 for KDXG soon? Can't wait for PDF contrast...

AFAICT, it was 3.0 on the review units.

If past history is any indication, the K1 had software versions 1.x, the K2 had software versions 2.x. The K3 is shipping with software version 3.x. I doubt that they will release a software version 3.x for the DXG but they might add the increased PDF functionality in an additional 2.x release.

I looked at the 3.0 source code. In the kernel, all support for the Kindle 2 (and maybe DX, I'm not sure)'s CPU, the iMX3 is removed, and it now supports Kindle 3's iMX35. Maybe the older users get a different version with a older kernel, or a 2.6 with less features. It's not likely that the new DX black is outdated a month or two into the release, but it is likely that the Kindle 2 is now outdated.
