Modified Kindle cover for the 302
Like another poster in this forum, I do not like the provided 302 cover very much. So I followed the advice given here and bought a cheap Kindle cover from ebay.
I would just love to get the proper one from Germany, but it is simply too expensive, especially if you include freight to Australia. The main problems with the standard 302 cover is that it hides (not totally) the side buttons. It makes it hard to change pages. It also hides the charge socket completely (how could they have overlooked this!!). It also opens vertically - which is not a real problem - you get used to it after awhile. But I still would like it to open like a real book (horizontally). So - I got this Kindle cover. The Kindle is the same size - but the sockets and things are all in the wrong place, of course. So I just cut off the attachment straps for the Kindle - and used double sided tape to hold my PB302 in. Works just like a bought one!! I am not too sure if double sided tape is good enough - it seems ok, but time will tell. I might glue on velcro if the tape is not good enough. It feels very secure though. I can recommend it.
