What? Where? How? Why?

I'm fairly new to eBookwise and still getting the hang of getting stuff on to the reader. The biggest frustration at times is just finding books that I want to buy. Normally I choose books by either browsing at a bookstore(or at amazon reading reviews and the "also bought" links), or just going with an author I know and like. EBookwise.com and the other sites I've checked out haven't had great browsing function.
Now I'm just curious how other owners of this device find there books and get them onto the machine.
So to the point of this thread:
What do you use this for?
Where do you find content?(What sites do you go to)
How do you get content on to EBookwise?
And Why? - both why for both the how and where sections.

First off,
I'm cheap.
I can read a book in 2-3 days, or used to until the arrival of our son nearly 5 years ago.
I'm not too selective but tend towards Sci-Fi.
I seem to have given up reading for audiobooks since I got the 700 title 10 DVD set from http://www.audiobooksforfree.com. It's $100 and that's not really free but I have been listening to it for nearly two years to and from work and am now up to the letter H. And up to book 15 in the OZ series which are great to fall asleep to

My books come from sources that supply legal free ebooks in .rb, .imp .htm (html), .doc and .txt formats.

Sources include,
http://www.gutenberg.org I have the 2006 DVD and the Sci-Fi CD.
http://www.baen.com look for the free library, books are available in .rb!
http://baencd.thefifthimperium.com/ 30 Cds that contain many Baen Sci-Fi series books. There is quite a bit of overlap so check the CD contents before downloading them all. Books are in in .rb format among others.
http://www.munseys.com/site/home I've never actually downloaded a book from this site.
http://www.starrigger.net/Downloads.htm#Eternity Books by author Jeffrey Carver, Sci-Fi of course.
http://www.smashwords.com/ I've never actually downloaded a book from this site.

Since I'm lazy and get books in html or .rb, I use the eBookwise Librarian for my conversion and transfer. It works for both my EBW1150 and my REB1200. For the Rockets, I use the program that can with them, I don't remember the name just now.

I tend to buy through fictionwise, I love their multiformat.
When I can't get it in .imp format I tend to buy in .lit format and use convertlit to convert it over to format that is readable by my librarian program.

Gutenbergs .txt and rtf files work well.

I can convert mobi books, but frankly it makes my head hurt to do it, so I avoid it as much as possible. .pdfs tend to turn out very weird when converted.

My main bookstores are: fictionwise and booksonboard

Answering my own question:
I read a lot of articles I get on-line and then copy to wordpad and upload using the personal content server.
As far as buying books, I've purchased a few books through ebookwise.com which has been just the natural place to buy books to start. Decent selection but as I said already not great for browsing.
I've also got a couple books from gutenberg.org early on, now i can't rememeber what format I used. Gutenberg is great but a bit overwhelming. More recently I've been getting books from manybooks.net. I really like this site it, the books of the week and reccommendations are helpful and I like the layout. It is basically just a subset of the books on Gutenberg, but more user friendly in my opinion. When using this site i download in rocketbook format.
I have yet to get a smartcard or the librarian program from ebookwise, so the personal content server has been what I use to get all my books onto my reader for now.So i can't getbooks in .imp format, which would be nice.
