Hello from WA, love the boards!
I'll admit it, I'm a bit of a lurker. I've been reading the forums for well over a month now and never bothered to register!
MobileRead boards helped me decide on which reader to get (Sony PRS-600) and which cover to use (Oberon). Rather than make my own thread about which to get I read over a multitude of reviews on each one. After finally getting to test out most of the prospective readers I thought the Sony was the most intuitive in its design despite having a few other fall-backs. I couldn't be happier with the reader, and I must thank MobileRead for being such a great and active forum community. Now that I finally stopped being lazy and registered, you should be seeing me post more often. See you around! |

Welcome to MR!
I lived in Pullman, WA for 3 years - all I can remember are the wheat fields. And the hills - everything was uphill! |

Welcome to MR, Ayrahvon
Have you discovered MR's ebook Library yet? Just in case, you may want to check out BBeB (sony lrf) and the ePub sections. |

I've been keeping strictly to epub, but I do love that section of the forums. Fortunately for me, my local library also lends out ebooks and I have been taking advantage of that for the past month.
I go back and forth between trying the free google books and the books available at mobile read. To me, it appears that the vast majority of the free google books lack a formatted epub table of contents (a major pet peeve of mine). Been trying to find a decent complete works of Shakespeare but have yet to find one that has a usable table of contents. I could of course create my own in Calibre if I wanted but I have a feeling the work has been done by someone else already. So far I've been using the Sony Store program for organizing my books (I actually prefer it to the auto created catalogs calibre has) and Calibre for any conversions I need to make. If I took the effort to get catalogs working well in Calibre I'd probably switch to it exclusively. |
