Free Copy of The Oort Perimeter by Steve Lake
Steve Lake (Lord Raiden) is a prolific writer and recently published The Oort Perimeter and I will be posting copies of the work under a CC license in the MobileRead download section. Steve is using Calibre to create the ePub version. Copies are also available in ePub and PDF at his website. (If you enjoy the book, he does ask that you buy a copy from Amazon.)

If he wants you to buy a copy after getting the free copy, it isn't really free, is it? Kind of a strange request.

Hi there. In reply to your comment, the book *IS* free. The only thing I was asking for you to consider was either buying the paperback, or sending a donation in appreciation if you liked the book. But if you don't want to, or didn't like it, you don't have to. It's entirely optional. But if you were to give even a small donation in thanks, it would be appreciated.

Isn't it enough that it's being published in a little used format? Seriously, are you really going to read it or are you just playing politics? I notice that many of your posts here are bellyaching about the lack of ePub formatted books. Not listings of free books you've found or are recommending... |

Rwood is doing it for me, since my Ebook formatting skills are apparently somewhat lacking at this point. ^_^;; The reformatted version should be available soon.

Hello and Welcome to MR, Lord Raiden. Stick around and peek into the various forums (well, we would enjoy hearing from you also).
Careful, as it can become addicting. for sharing your work with us.. We have a few other writers on MR **hint, check out my signature for just a few of them** Last edited by dreams; 09-08-2009 at 04:05 PM. Reason: added hint |

Welcome to MobileRead Steve Now if we can only get CC to read a book.
A bit of history here. In the days before I joined MobileRead I was a member of another site devoted to computer hardware and some software where Steve was one of the best mods (along with Crosscourt or CC.) For reasons best left in the past, a group of us left and found homes at other locations. Steve has started his own site where he publishes his writings and a comic called Monk in addition to a hardware/software forum area with a concentration in Linux/BCD distros. I have the files to create revised editions of The Oort Perimeter and mtravellerh has offered his assistance in formatting the ePub version. WE will also add LRF/Mobi/IMP versions as well as Steve's original PDF version. |

So...for those of you already reading the book, albeit a badly formatted copy (rwood should have that fixed at some point for me. ^_^;; ), what do you think of it?
