page error in Sony 700 epub format

First Kovid, let me say first, thank you for your time and effort. I love calibre.

I've been converting my entire library to epub so I could view books on my ipod touch and just purchased a Sony 700. Several of my epubs are not displaying on the reader. I get a page error notification. They work fine on the ipod and the computer, and are less the 500k in size. Do I have any other options then to also produce lrf files?

I have been porting everything to the SD card using Calibre, and have tried removing , dumping the cache and replacing the books, but they still won't open.

Any other suggestions?

The Ipod options work wonderfully, thanks again.

It seems you have at least one file in your ePub that is over 300k uncompressed.

You can either manually fix this or run your ePub through Calibre to fix this.

I used Calibre to produce them. Can you give me more specific directions on how I might do that?

Thank you.

Also, I've just gone back to check, and at least one of the files that I get a page error on is only 165k.

They're all purchased, converted from non-drm pdfs.

Following up again

while I'm trying to sort this out I'm starting to convert all I've done so far to lrf as well. I've done all of the lit files with no problems. As I move forward to converting pdf to lrf, is it better to use the epub file already produced, or start from the original pdf? Or doesn't it even matter as the engine will be the same?

Thanks again,
Beau

It should not matter as the data from the PDF will be the same.

What version Calibre are you using?

Thanks! I wasn't sure if any formating would have been lost in the epub conversion (i.e. italics, etc.)

I'm using 0.5.14.
