ebook-convert hangs for mobi -> text | calibre (7.6)

Hi there,

I wonder if anyone has tips on how to go about debugging the following issue: I am trying to convert a book using the cli:

ebook-convert "book.mobi" "book.txt"

No fatal errors so far, however the process hangs forever, with the following output:

I can't even stop the process using CTRL+C, and need to interrupt and kill it...

It's Calibre 7.6 on MacOS Sonoma 14.4.

Any idea or tip welcome! Thanks in advance!

Just let it run, pathological cases can take up to 48 hours to convert.

Thanks for your answer @kovidgoyal, I'm sorry for the late reply, I somehow expected to receive a notification e-mail, and then forgot about it. Will try that!

You should upgrade to calibre 7.12. It's not a good idea to report any issues on an earlier version because if it has been fixed, you;ll get the fix and if not, then it can be fixed.

Sorry for the late reply, I hadn't realised I didn't get automatic e-mails for replies in my thread (changed the option now).

Two notes: first, yes, you're correct about the version, I've updated to 7.13 now!

Second, however, it worked nonetheless! That pesky mobi file took 8 days to convert, but it did in the end, fantastic!
