Kobo Libra 2 rear panel loose... normal?
Purchased reader last month, and after a few
weeks use I've noticed the rear casing is slightly loose, that is it moves in and out of the front casing, with very light finger pressure. It's on the long side opposite the buttons. There's also a very light "squeaking/clicking" sound as this happens, and you can actually see it moving with the naked eye. Do I have a defective unit, or is this sort of poor quality control typical with Kobo readers? Thanks in advance for any thoughts. |

While not universal, this is actually quite common, and not only with Kobos. I had a Kindle 4 with the loose back panel issue; it didn't affect either the performance or the longevity of the device (that oldie is still in perfect working order after 12 years). The defect is mostly cosmetical. You could try to exchange, but there's no guarantee the next one won't be the same.
Edit: please don't hit "Enter" at the end of the line when you type. The line breaks automatically, there's no need to insert artificial line breaks. It makes your posts harder to read. Last edited by Sirtel; 08-13-2023 at 07:25 PM. |

Would Kobo allow you to do unlimited exchanges like that?

It should just pop in if you press around the edge.

Aura H2O for about 7 years and the Libra 2 and no creaking back panel. I've had a Reader since 2006 and not a single one has a loose or creaking back panel.
