calibre 5.43.0 error connecting to kindle fire hd10
Hi
Kindle Fire HD10 and Calibre connection It was all working before I've been using it for nearly 2 years always updated - never had problems I updated today to latest version 5.43.0 and I cannot connect , tried rebooting both kindle and pc, tried changing ports and cable etc... I can see the Kindle on my PC it just won't connect to Calibre software anymore This is waht I got: calibre, version 5.43.0 ERROR: Error: Error communicating with device C:\r\src\src\calibre\devices\mtp\windows\content_e numeration.cpp:336:Failed to EnumObjects() of folder from device:[hr=0x8007001e wCode=0] The system cannot read from the specified device.: o3B Traceback (most recent call last): File "calibre\gui2\device.py", line 87, in run File "calibre\gui2\device.py", line 548, in _books File "calibre\devices\mtp\driver.py", line 219, in books File "calibre\devices\mtp\driver.py", line 191, in get_driveinfo File "calibre\devices\mtp\windows\driver.py", line 271, in filesystem_cache wpd.WPDError: C:\r\src\src\calibre\devices\mtp\windows\content_e numeration.cpp:336:Failed to EnumObjects() of folder from device:[hr=0x8007001e wCode=0] The system cannot read from the specified device.: o3B Can anyone help? Can Windows Explorer see any files and folders on the Fire?

check that it’s not being ignored by calibre in the device settings. They live under preferences. Untick the box if it is……

That is an error listing the files in the device storage. This has been known to happen with some
devices when they contain SD cards. If you remove the SD card, you should be fine. You can try reformatting the card or using a different card as well. If the device is not using an SD card then your remaining option is to reset it. |

In order to prevent any confusion, it's not a Kindle Fire. Amazon dropped the name Kindle from their tablets to prevent confusion. It's just a Fire HD 10.
