Horror Wilde, Oscar: The Picture of Dorian Gray. v5 10 Sep 2014

"The Picture of Dorian Gray" (not the portrait) is the only published novel of Oscar Wilde (1854-1900). It was first published in 1890 and then revised and new chapters added in 1891, it is this second revision what I am uploading. Probably everyone knows the story, but I'm not going to spoil it anyway, it's about a young hedonist man who gets a portrait of himself painted by a friend. It's a philosophical/psycological story of gothic horror (according to Wikipedia).

I created this version from the PG text, which has very few mistakes (there was at least a missing line, though). I added curly quotes, italics, diacritics, etc.

Not much fancy stuff in this ePUB version. For those wanting to read this in a web browser, I include an index.zip file: just unzip this and the .epub file in the same directory, and open index.html (and modify index.css if you like).

Any kind of feedback is welcome (including appropriate tags).

I found another typo. In chapter 4, there is "I can't afford orchids, but I share no expense in foreigners."

"Share" should be "spare."

Hi Jellby, love your coding style.

Do your dropcaps work on Kobo? For me, the initial cap and the chapter title overlap. I've attached a screen capture so you can see what I mean.

This happens in both ADE 2.0.67275 on Mac, and on Sony PRS-T3 1.1.00.15210

The problem with the initial cap is that ADE still has the bug causing it to display stuff that is supposed to go the the header (the proper behavior is either show it in the header, or ignore it). Try the calibre viewer, it works better there.

The other problem is the chapter number not being properly aligned. I would have to investigate that. I may produce an updated version, "modernizing" the code for current readers (I mean the devices).
