Smile What is the newest firmware a PW2 can have to be Jailbroken?
What brought me to this forum is a dream. A dream of merging my two favorite things into one: reading and chess.

Well in all fairness they are not my favorite nor I've ever dreamed about this things specifically, but I do them a lot. Also, right after this damn pandemic is over I'll be making a long trip where I hope to do a lot of reading and maybe become a 1600 player and a Jailbroken kindle sounds like a great companion for such trip.

Recently I discovered pbchess and I was floored by the possibilities. And here I am, sorting through all these threads trying to figure out how to jailbreak my kindle which turns out is "unjailbreakeable" (KT4)

I saw on the “Where Do I Start?” sticky thread that I could Jailbreak a PW2 with 5.4.3.2

My question is, can I buy a PW2 with a newer FW?

The last jailbreakable firmware version of PW2 is 5.8.7.0.1.
The last jailbreakable firmware version of PW3 is 5.9.6.1.
Currently shipping new PW4 are jailbreakable (don't turn on the wifi).
