Unable to add books to library

When I try to add books to my library I keep getting error messages like this:

I know some of it is in Swedish but that stuff is kinda irrelevant anyways, basicly just says it was unable to add the book and to click show more for details.

Where is the Library (path to Library)?

Something on your computer is preventing calibre from opening its database file, most likely an antivirus or file sync program. Exclude the calibre library folder from the antivirus and you should be fine.

I have the same problem, started happening today. WIN 10 PC.
Here's my error message:

Thanks for helping. FYI, I have 2 exceptions in my AV software. 1. calibre-parallel.exe and 2 my calibre library.

The Add File dialog is another program which you need to add to the AV software. (it's in the Calibre2\app\bin directory called calibre-file-dialog.exe) But Calibre has many other executables to look out for too. Just look at all the exes in the Calibre2 directory and its various sub directories.

It's probably easiest just to add the entire folder as an exception.

Shouldn't be too much of a security risk as long as you don't copy random executables in there before running them (why would you do that anyways?).

If it is the AV causing the problem then that AV needs to go. It ne3eds to be deleted and never ever installed again. If it is the AV, please tell us what AV is is so we can tell others to never use it.
