Screenshot on Kobo device

Hi,

My device is Kobo Aura H2O v1, KOreader is 2020.10.1-2 from dev chanel.

Unfortunately I don't know for what reason, but Screenshot Capture doesn't work.

On this page, I read that you should go according to the default moves.

Tap on diagonally opposed corners of the screen with two fingers at the same time or swipe from any corner to the diagonally opposed corner of the screen on devices without multi-touch support

Whichever I try, dem nothing happens.

Bug or Guesture definition problem (I can't find a move about it anywhere)?

That gesture needs a device that supports multitouch. Not all of them are compatible (I don't know about your specific device).

A good way to check if your device supports multitouch is trying the "two fingers swipe gestures" in a book.

Two fingers swipe to left / right will show you the TOC and bookmarks if your device is compatible. They won't do that if the device is single touch (probably the gesture will be recognized as a single finger swipe, moving you to the previous/next page on the book).

For single touch devices the way to do a screenshot is a "loooong diagonal swipe". That should work for multitouch devices too

After the long diagonal swipe, wait a few seconds for a popup giving you some info and the option to use the screenshot as a screensaver. It may take you a number of tries to get the speed and start and end points (diagonal corners) right. It should be: touch down, at a corner and without lifting your finger swipe all the way to the opposite corner, then lift your finger.

No MT on a H2O.

That said, even on a Forma, where MT gestures *are* supported, the "opposite corner" thingy for screenshots is nigh impossible to trigger.

EDIT: Okay, no, it works, I just have really, really short intervals configured (on purpose), so it needs to be a *super-fast*,*super-light* tap ^^.

In any case, as far as the OP is concerned, never gonna happen on a H2O anyway

. Long swipe it is, there.

Note that I actually fixed two-finger handling on IR grid devices since then, since the hardware is actually capable of (mostly accurately) tracking two contact points

It works quite well really. In the past I stupidly assumed, without investigating, that it was only possible on the capacitive models because that's how it is in the factory software.

MT was very specifically broken on the H2O & Glo HD for a good long while (as in, I fixed it a little over a year ago) because of a weird little quirk

That's what I'm referring to. I assumed (as in from ~2014 onward) that such differences in Nickel features were a matter of hardware, not software. Which is mostly true.

If I hadn't made that mistaken assumption I might've investigated it years ago.
