I created account to thank you for sharing this firmware! After two weeks of struggle I am back to normal, stable eBook reader.
Highly do not recommend to move to v3.0.0. The main problem is with FB2 files. First I found that binary tags should be each from new line otherwise Likebook cannot see only first one. Then I found that you need to split that long base64 line into shorter ones. Then I found that new reader has issues with genre tag. I managed to fix all errors using "FictionBook Editor" app, otherwise you would not be able to open a book. Reader either crash or hung on. Please pay attention that older version had no this issue!!! However, after some time the annotations stopped working. Whenever you click them they move to the beginning of the chapter. So I start searching for a way how to downgrade back. I will also downgrade my new P10. In 3.0.0 the editor has very ugly fonts too. The spacing is like book reader was designed for disabled people as I can see 4 word in a line and 7 lines on a hole page. The chapter headers are now in ugly gray rectangles. They just fixed the problem with multiline annotation but since it's working only for some time, I see no reason, why one will upgrade to Android 8.1 and OS v3.0.0. I hope I saved someone time. |

To get the best out of the Boyue readers concentrate on downloading and installing whichever reading app best serves your needs. Try them out and make a selection. Most are free.
Messing around with the OS is not worth the risk. It takes up too much time and support is pretty well non existent. |
