Calibre crashes when connected to my tablet
I have a samsung tab A and I have not been able to upload books in my tablet. Whenever i connect my tab to calibre, it crashes. I have tried the plugins, deleting and downloading new calibre. It keeps doing it. I am not sure what i am doing wrong.
In one of the threads, Kovid suggested the debug device detection and I did. Can you tell me whats wrong? Spoiler:

Been using Calibre Companion since I got my Tab A,so I just ran a test for you using USB.
Shows 919 on storage A and 72 on Main Memory Those numbers look good. OTOH all the dates (device view) read 31 Dec 1969 (books arrived by CC, not USB ) |

Sadly there are a few devices which cause a crash in the WPD driver in calibre, I have never been able to replicate so cannot fix. Your choices are either:
1) Try resetting the device and then rebootingthe computer 2) Use one ofthe wireless connection methods described here https://manual.calibre-ebook.com/faq...kindle-fire-hd |

I tried resetting my device and it worked. Thank god for that. I was going crazy for almost a month. I kept hoping it was a bug and it will get better. |

Quick question. How can I change the date to the date I upload to my tablet instead of 31 Dec 1969?

As I said, I use Calibre companion (I use content server mode for NEW book loading and WDC mode for update/status. I almost never Push from Calibre via WDC mode) and That does/shows it correctly (at the device) |

Dates will be zero (which shows as 1969) because of a malfunction on the device. Resend and you should be ok.
