I have never seen these but the description says 300 dpi in the heading but 167 dpi in the text. 800 x 600 is 167 dpi which is technology of 10 -12 years ago for screen display. Perhaps they were lost for years in a warehouse which would make me wonder about the battery.

I can't say for certain, but it looks like it uses an LCD screen instead of e-Ink.

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Kobo-Aura...bled/926485654 If you live in Europe and want a basic, non-touch eReader, non-front-lit eReader, both the Pocketbook Basic 3 and Tolino Page (both use E-Carta 167ppi screens) sell for about $75 (or about Euro 70). https://www.grooves-inc.com/pocketbo...edium=category (Looks like Grooves is currently out of the Tolino Page, but they seem to get them back in stock fairly quickly. If you live in Europe you can probably find these all over the place.) Last edited by rcentros; 08-31-2019 at 04:14 PM. |

That generic reader looks quite suspicious, and the description is misleading (it says 300 dpi in the title but it's actually 167 dpi). I wouldn't trust it.
Are you Japanese? If you want a very cheap reader, you could buy a second hand Kobo Touch (or similar) on https://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/. |

If you have a Big Lots store in your area, check them. They carry that kind of junk stuff.

A quick search on Amazon came up with Zerone and Ashata ereaders that look identical to the device you linked to (the Zerone even comes in blue). Hmmm... no touch screen, 600x800 resolution... takes me back quite few years when I owned a Kobo WiFi. Last edited by DNSB; 08-31-2019 at 08:32 PM. |
