Just a thought..
Wouldn't it be nice if Calibre accessed a online database for recipe updates and additions?

Well a complete overhaul of the recipe system is on my TODO list, I just have too many other things to get done first.

Well I don't mind having them in a menu already - perhaps submenus based on topic and geographical region?

The (eventually) resdesigned interface will use search to locate recipes (a lot like the main books view) and will allow you to schedule downloads. Getting recipes from a server is also possible, but a little harder to implement, since for that, I'd have to setup and maintain a server as well.
