Disable hyphenation? (custom firmware?)
Is there any way to disable the hyphenation on the Kindle Paperwhite? I find it quite distracting and sometimes the hyphens come in the middle of names, which is really annoying.
I know that you can download and transfer azw3 files over which will lose it, but it would be nice to do away with that manual step. Are there any custom firmwares to do it? My Kindle is on 5.10.3. |

You could do what I do and change the kindle's setting to use ragged right instead of justified. That also gives you nice consistent inter-word spacing, which is what I'm after.

I have been reading like that, but it doesn't eliminate the soft hyphens completely. They're reduced, but there are still instances where there are 2 or 3 per page, and breaks in the middle of names. Absolutely no idea why soft hyphens would exist in left-aligned text. it's quite unnecessary :|
