Forum search doesn't work (any longer?)
Just tried my first forum search.
After the first ( and not working) try I did more searches to find any reason: fruitless. I always get the following "search result" : Unauthorized access to internal API. Please refer to https://support.google.com/customsearch/answer/4542055 |

Not sure what the problem is/was, mgrmgrde, but I'm not seeing any issues here. I just did both a forum search and a thread search and both returned the results I expected. Could you give some details of what you were searching for, and on what forum? It might make it easier for the moderators to identify the issue.

<shame>Well, facts convince </shame>
I did the same search again (searching for "github" in the calibre fora) - today no problem at all. Sorry for the storm in a glass of water. |

I see it too. Searching for 'PaperCrop' from 'https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31677' GETs
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/gc...1614j456542j11 which returns "Unauthorized access to internal API. Please refer to https://support.google.com/customsearch/answer/4542055" Searching for 'papercrop' (all lowercase) also fails. However, searching for 'PaperCrop' from 'https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=310427' POSTs do=process showposts=0 childforums=1 securitytoken=1538428882... s query=PaperCrop search=Search to 'https://www.mobileread.com/forums/search.php' and succeeds. The problem occurs when you are not logged in. In this case, a custom google search is used - which is broken.
The error is: Quote:

Sometimes it's better to do the search in google. After your search terms, put mobileread.com and it will show you search results from this site. I tend to do this rather than using the site's search, which has never really worked for me, even though I stay logged in.
