Sir Pelham Grenville Wodehouse (1881-1975) was a popular English comic writer. His books are usually set around pre-war upper-class English society.
"The Intrusion of Jimmy" (1910) is the American version of "A Gentleman of Leisure". There are at least spelling differences in the text (favor/favour, theater/theatre, hullo/halloa), but only "The Intrusion of Jimmy" is available in PG. Jimmy Pitt is an American well-to-do young man who just came back from London to New York, he bets he can break into a house, and he does... Then a story of misunderstandings, engagements and theft develops, mainly again in England. While it may be classified as a comic novel, it's far from the hysterical absurdities of many Hollywood comedies. I created this version from the PG text, which has a number of typos and OCR errors. (The main version of the book found in Google Books seems to be a direct copy of the PG text, with the same mistakes, such as "Eichlieu" for "Richelieu"). I added curly quotes, a TOC, etc., and created the book with mobiperl. Any kind of feedback is welcome. |

Jellby, these are brilliant editions. Though any chances of doing the rest of the books for Wodehouse on PG?
