Thanks for the info. I've downloaded the update to my two e-readers and I'll try reading with it today to see how I like it. My initial response looking at it after it was installed was to bump the size up a notch in order to feel comfortable because the font is small.

Firmware updates seem to be coming quickly.
So this includes the Amazon Ember and Ember Bold fonts on the Voyage now. Just installed, everything went well. Last edited by Zeebra; 11-30-2016 at 01:55 PM. |

Installed on my PW3, Jailbreak still working
I don't think Amazon Ember (the non-bold version) was available for the PW3 before this update, right? In my case it added both versions to my ereader, but I might have missed something. |

Installed it on my Voyage. The new font is nice but I like Helvetica, so back to it.

I installed it on my Voyage. It does seem okay but I'm not sure I like it more than Bookerly. I'll try it out for a while and see what i think.
I generally prefer fonts with serifs but it's not that important to me. Barry |

I have had the regular ember on my Oasis, but I can't read non serif fonts. I wish bookerly was just a tad darker so I mostly use caecilia as its a bit darker.
If they can add a bold non serif, they should be able to have a serif one also. I am so used to caecilia since its whats been on kindles since the first. Heck, there was just that one font on the K1 and I read on it just fine for 2 years. It looks so faded now compared to the newer screens. Course my eyes are 8 years older now too. |

I am going to try it out too; I normally use Bookerly but the bold option is appealing to my eyes.

Updated both the Oasis and Voyage. Seemed like it took longer to update this time, lots of flashing to white screen.
When they say bold, they mean it. . That would be a bit much for me to read with to be honest, but hopefully it will help those that wanted it. |

I am so glad that Amazon has finally listened and added a dark font. ive been wanting this for a very long time. It's not perfect, but I will take what I can get.

Not sure if it is just me but the book covers seem to be a lot better looking, they seem to have more detail to them.

Is correct, Ember non-bold wasn't available to date. Great update

Thx. Just updated. I still like the caecilia over the new fonts.
Besides the new fonts, I don't know what else did it change my Voyage. I wish they can fix the uneven screen color by the firmware update if possible. |

Voyage did not have Ember to begin with. Now it has both it and Bold Ember. I am pretty much happy with Bookerly but I like to experiment, so happy to have another choice.
