Yes but there is also a new Plugin manual but it is primarily of use to plugin developers more so than users.

Now that's weird. I have a User's Guide from Dave Heiland which says it's updated to 0.9.0. I have no idea where I got it, but the file on my hard drive is dated 6/28/2016. I'm also not sure if I can upload it, since I'm not sure if it's protected by copyright.
I did go searching through the forum and the world wide web, and I can't find any reference to this version. Anybody care to enlighten me? |

That is interesting. Does it include any discussion of epub3, Preserve Entities, or Plugins?

Ah! I didn't even remember doing that. Yes you must be correct. I started trying to update the user manual but soon learned I suck at writing.
Thanks! Ps. Still looking for a volunteer or volunteers to take a shot at updating the manual! |

By the way, the user's guide needs fixing. The two lines in the title page are off to the left instead of centered. This looks like Dave Heiland doesn't know how to use Sigil.

If you're not offering to work on the guide yourself, perhaps you could refrain from criticizing the volunteer work of others. Thanks. |

Is Mr Heiland's Guide actually available anywhere but Scribd, which offers it as a "free" download, if one signs up for ten dollars a month.

I'd really--truly--like to help, but the truth is, between my own time crunches and the fact that I don't use Sigil as extensively as I did, when I first came to MR, I'm not sure I'm up to speed on all the ins-outs. I spend 99% of my time answering emails, herding kittens, and trying out "new stuff" (like...working out new media queries for the guys, that kind of junk) nowadays. IF you (or anyone else here) has stuff you've drafted up, but just want polishing for, or details, or screenshots + polishing the writing, I'm happy to leap in with both feet. Can't say I'll be FAST, 'cuz timecrunches, but I will work on it. That's probably not what you want, but that's what I can say I'm good at. Hitch |

Which leads me to think, that an epub manual might not be the best way to do it. Of course it's awesome to make the manual with Sigil itself - but some sort of "collaborative manual", if such and animal exists - a wiki-like thingie or something might be a better solution (which otoh also could end up in a mess without some coordination/moderation ...) Well, just a thought. Regards, Kim |

(Though I can't find them right now, I found some of our own trial editions on Scribd at some point. They contains 5 to 10 percent of the full book and are free downloads from our website and most danish ebook shops … why in the world would anyone want to pay for that? Scribd is weird …) Regards, Kim |

It's basically the same model that Epubor and many other "software developers" use, who either sell re-branded Calibre edtions and/or other free software or bundle them with custom installers that install all kinds of malware. |
