It appears that if one subscribes to Kindle Unlimited, this does not add anything.

But it is a choice subset of KU titles. Most ebooks are high-selling Indies and APub and the APubs lean heavily on past Kindle First titles. Plus, it comes right after this: https://www.amazon.com/b/ref=as_li_s...774264f3a96e20 Quote:

Well, it never occurred to me though look for magazines in KU. So this is immediately useful to me in terms of knowledge about the value of my KU subscription.
The truth is, it's a pretty small subset of the KU titles, heavy KU users like me are unlikely to drop KU to use Prime reading. It's a nice, ongoing free sample though, but that's all it is. Prime is turning into a nice overview of the things Amazon does. Even if it duplicates a service you already have, the other things rather make up for it! |

Does this replace the free monthly KDP title Prime members receive?
Also, is there a link of all the titles in Prime Reading? [Nevermind. I found the list.] Last edited by Fbone; 10-05-2016 at 01:56 PM. |

It seems that Amazon chooses the books from the Kindle Unlimited catalog. I wonder how Prime Reading works from the publisher's point of view.
Do publishers have to opt in? Can they opt out? Are they compensated for reads the same as for Kindle Unlimited? Are they paid from the same cash pool as Kindle Unlimited? |

How does one use this feature? The page on Amazon just seems to describe it.

When I go to a book that's included there is a button that says Read for Free (included with your Prime membership). [see attached]

This service reminds me a little of Scribd Selects, monthly catalog rotations of free (zero credit) titles for subscribers. The book selection still doesn't appeal much to me, but magazines could be very useful.
