CC no longer shows up in Amazon Appstore
My Nexus 6P updated itself to Android 7 yesterday and now CC has vanished from the Amazon Appstore (where I purchased it rather than buying on Google Play (a mistake I won't make again because Amazon Appstore sucks)). CC opens, throws an Amazon Appstore error, then immediately closes.
I did a chat with Amazon but figured I'd post here in case there's some faster solution than dealing with Amazon. Thanks. |

Sounds like there is a problem with Nougat and Amazon's verification (on apps that use verification)...

Amazon didn't seem to think the problem was at their end (not that that means anything really). I thought it could be a versioning thing like CC hadn't been updated to indicate it was compatible with Nougat because it doesn't even show up in an Appstore search anymore.

Could be. The link I posted above was the only reference I could find in reference to an error like you had posted, but I have no idea if it's the actual problem (or if there is more than one problem).

My guess: this is the result of a pissing contest between Amazon and Google about app sources and security. There are lots of sites mentioning the Nougat "knows" where the app came from. How this interacts with the Amazon App Store is the $64,000 question. |

Is there any difference between the Amazon & Google versions? I have the Google version on my Fire HDX.
I hope that CC is "generic" enough that when Chrome OS 53 arrives (maybe in late Sept), CC will just install & be usable like a "normal" android app unless the Chromebook has a unique write to disk (sd card) stopper. |

FWIW: I just tested CC on the official Google Android Studio version of Nougat and it runs fine.

is this a case of the app store ( on a device) only shows what it thinks is good-to-go on that device.
e.g. if I look for mantano/ bookari reader at amazon via PC its there in the store, but if I look at the same store via my Fire tablet there is no such app. so from this PC - amazon(uk) - apps, there's the CC full version and demo version; and from my fire tablet ( Os 5 , sort of an android 5) -> apps ->store...I see both apps still, also. but maybe if I had a new android 7 tablet and checked the amazon app store from that, then I'd not see it?
