.azw format books on Kobo?

I inadvertently transferred one freebie from Amazon, to my Kobo, without converting it through Calibre. Obviously this book is in .azw format. When I disconnected the Kobo from laptop, I could see the name and cover of the book in library of device. I could open it too, but all blank pages.

I know, Kobo does not support azw, but I was wondering on it's appearance in the device list. Is it possible to read .azw on Kobo somehow?

I believe the Kobo has (inferior) support for old MOBI (but obviously not new AZW3).

Perhaps the reason it was blank is because it had DRM? Does the Kobo know how to recognize and error out on DRMed MOBI?

Copy it back to the computer. Use Calibre. Reload it to the reader.
