Well, that's okay cause Amazon is going to take the High Frontier:

I'm not getting the "Amazon under Attack" part. Isn't it just another of many places selling ebooks?

I suspect it's because Oyster already competes with KU

Couldn't it just as easily be called an "attack" on Scribd?

As long as the books can only be read by their app, and not on my e-ink readers, I'm not interested.

I visited Oyster's website and they are hardly a threat to Amazon.
Compared to Amazon and Kobo, the book selection is limited. Oyster does not have any of the major manga or comic publisher books on their site. |

According to the eBook reader.com you have to read the books in their app only. How's that a threat to Amazon? You can download books from Amazon and also read on their eink devices. This is limited to the crappy Oyster app.

With high prices and the restriction to read only in their app, I can't see purchasing books at Oyster being very popular. It was probably important to them in order to claim feature parity with Scribd and Amazon.
I did notice, when looking at some metadata on their site, that they now have placeholders for locales of "CA" and "GB", in addition to the current "US". Perhaps they are gearing up to expand their service outside the US? |

Another article from someone who appears to have a big "Amazon is the Great Satan" agenda. Complete with tie-ins to evilly controlling 2/3 or 95% of the ebook market, publishers desperate to get out from under Bezos' () heel, etc. etc. I'd also like to hear more details about "While Amazon's position in the e-book marketplace is incredibly strong, it's more vulnerable than it has been in years." |

Oyster is too small in compared to Amazon. How is Oyster a threat to Amazon?
