How to buy a Japan Display Inc tablet
Hi!
According to their website, they "cannot respond to any requests by retail consumers for sales and technical documents." so I wonder if there is a way that I, a regular consumer, could put my hand on one of their devices, any thoughts? Also, I am trying to do this assuming they cause less eye fatigue, is this true? Thanks. |

JDI is a component supplier not a device manufacturer.
You would have to identify a consumer device using their components and then find a retailer that carries that particular product. Often, device manufacturers will use muktiple suppliers for the same product so unless it is a special part there is no guarantee of getting a device with just the right component. (For example: some XBOX hacks depend on the brand and model of DVD drive in a unit and the source and model changes all the time.) If your interest is in JDI's advanced LCD displays, you might want to keep close tabs on the upcoming CONSUMER ELECTRONICS SHOW in Las Vegas. Somebody will probably be showing something with them. But it will likely be a smaller chinese ODM looking for a distributor and, as a rule, 80% of the stuff at CES never gets to stores. If you know of a specific product, you could try the DYNAMISM webstore. Their whole business is importing asian niche tech goodies. |

Sony has announced it will use the JDI display in their Sony Xperia Z Tablet series. The first Xperia tablet with JDI display will be released next year. Other manufacturers are expected to follow suit.

Xperia Z3 is already in stock and its display is TRILUMINOS, not JDI.
