Why aren't AZW3 files being emailed to my Kindle Voyage?

I have AZW3, AZW, MOBI, PDF formats specified under my Kindle email entry and most of my ebooks are in EPUB format. When I try to email to my Kindle, it'll ask if I want to convert to AZW3 since EPUB isn't a suitable format and I'll choose Yes but I won't see the AZW3 on my device.

If I have MOBI as default and convert from EPUB to MOBI, I'll see it on my Voyage. Anyone know why this is?

Because AZW3 isn't a supported Send-to-Kindle format: http://www.amazon.com/gp/sendtokindle/email.

It supports MOBI and AZW Kindle formats, but not AZW3. If you want to send something to your Kindle via email, you'll need to have it convert to MOBI.

If you want to use AZW3 on any (supporting) Kindle, you need to SIDE LOAD, not e-mail.

Or email a dual-MOBI, which will be split off into a KF8 by Amazon. But their email service is still broken, because you won't see the cover in Cover View.
