FWIW if you're willing to "travel" they are available in the UK (from Transworld/RandomHouse) and have been for a couple of years. |

Saga Press, huh? If they can publish some highly desirable stuff this would be great. I find myself getting more and more devices that don't necessarily work super good together... so DRM is becoming a real life problem for me. And I would love to just throw my most recent purchase on to whatever reader I am using this week.

I think Simon & Schuster is Carl Sagan's publisher. I really want an ebook version of Contact, maybe the new imprint will finally make that happen.

Having DRM is essentially like saying "You, the person BUYING this item, are a horrible criminal, only buying this to distribute it, so we HAVE to protect ourselfs by making it complicated for you to actually use the product!" |

Whether you clean your purchase thereafter doesn't matter. Not everyone of us wants to do this. And those of us who don't buy crippled media usually don't limit it to books. After all there are games and music too. |

I just did a quick search, the Kobo Terms of Use use the word "buy" quite often, so if they really mean that you're only leasing it, then I'd bet the terms are worthless. The word "lend" or "lease" never appeared. Also, my response is not only to S&S or eBooks but DRM in general. One of the worst examples are DVDs. |
