Umlauts in foreign languages
When converting RTF files some "umlauts", (marks ¨ placed over a vowels), are not converted properly. I'm trying to convert Hungarian text that has problems to convert two of its, (seven in total), characters with umlauts.
ő is displayed as õ ű is displayed as û Source file (RTF) the word: feltűnő is converted in all tried Destination formats: (AZW3, EPUB, MOBI) as: feltûnõ Umlauts are used in many other languages besides Hungarian such as French, German, Spanish and probably in many others. I'm a new user of Calibre but found no reference to this particular issue on the web, or the user forums here. Is there a solution to this problem? Regards |

Also try saving your RTF as HTML in Word and then convert them html. RTF's unicode support is a typical Microsoft disaster. |

Thank you, you're right. I have tried HTML and it does indeed converts these two problem characters right.
