Prime membership.
I was given a free membership of Prime in October and kept it on I could just about justify the cost with the free next day delivery which is a bit of a hit and miss, and the loan of a kindle book each month.
Have decided to Cancel it as £79.00 a year is a bit steep its way too much as I don't watch movies or TV programmes. |

I'm definitely keeping mind (up to the $100 a year limit). I do get a lot of use from it. Shipping price alone would do it for me.

I still have Prime Student until next year. I'm still undecided whether or not to keep it when my price goes up.

Don't like prime, for a while Amazon couldn't send a package fast. I guess it was prime customers first, the rest is crap.
And I don't like to be treated like that. They seam to be back to their old self, and can send package fast again. Last edited by EowynCarter; 02-21-2014 at 01:09 PM. |

Last time I looked, I was making about a hundred purchases a year using Prime.
Sure, over $25 you get free shipping. Sure, I have never watched (at least not yet) a movie with Prime. Sure, they have this pesky "add on" category now. Sure, the last book I "borrowed" months and months ago, is still on my Kindle. Sure, I cashed out all my Amazon stock. (At least I made a slight profit, if not a killing.) Sure, I still wait for the "new"Amazon phone. Sure, I wonder about the "new" Amazon TV. Sure, I have a number of firearms I might proffer if a delivery drone approached my porch. Anyway, the speedy delivery makes it useful as I am always letting events slip up on me, and I will be on the old Prime price through most of this year. Then we will see. |

Free/fast shipping wasn't enough of a perk for me, but once I got hooked up for video streaming to my TV, Prime became a good deal.

Fast, predictable shipping is worth the price alone for me. And we end up watching a lot of free video, so that's a definite plus. I can't see dropping it any time soon.

I will be keeping mine. I do a lot of shopping on Amazon, especially next day, which is only $3.99 for Prime Members (couldn't run to the store for that), get free shipping to our vacation home, which is half way up a mountain. I love to get movies from Amazon--have the whole Breaking Bad, with no commercials, and download free Prime movies onto my Fire for offline viewing. Works wonderfully. Also, have all my music in Amazon Cloud. Just downloaded it all to Windows Media Player, and synced some to my sansa clip, and I am done with iTunes (not authorized, when I bought if from you in the first place, Apple. I just rebought on Amazon.)

If it was just me I wouldn't bother (and, I didn't). But my wife watches a lot of movies and streaming TV, so I'm added on.
Someone else already mentioned this, but years ago Amazon's standard shipping was very, very slow. Now, standard shipping is much better. I'm a pretty patient guy, so I can wait a week or two (but four to six weeks was a bit much). The quicker shipping is nice, but if it was just me, I wouldn't pay the premium. |

Seems we get a better deal in France. Standard shipping comes free anyway with most things and is usually four days max.

I've just subscribed to this. I am already paying £4.99 per month for lovefilm instant. So yearly it works out at £59.88. I also own a kindle (lending library) and amazon have changed their super saver delivery service. You now have to spend over £10 to qualify for free delivery. So taking all that into account it makes sense for me to get the prime service. Also you can get it for £49 if you sign up now.
