Create virtual library on device connect

Hi everybody.

Quick question:

I use Virtual Libraries to further establish structures in my eBook collection. As I got more acquainted to the features in calibre, I started using a "ondevice:false" virtual library to have an overview of which books in a large series I haven't transferred yet. But this approach only works when the device is connected, otherwise it shows my full library.

Is there a way to make that VL pop up once metadata has been retrieved from a connected device?

Not directly, but you can create a plugin to do that, if you are comfortable with programming.

Comments:true (or any other field except Ondevice: )
might work if this field is the one that is ONLY being populated from your import.

Programming in general, yes. Python, not so...

Ah well, another reason to get into that :F I'll see if I can get that to work.

You can use the Reading List plugin to automatically populate a custom yes/no column with the device's contents, then create a VL based on that column.
