Well deserved in my opinion. Redshirts is great, as is his Old Man's War trilogy. I didn't much care for Zoe's Tale, but the next entry in the series, The Human Division, is at the top of my (virtual) TBR pile.

I liked Red Shirts, but was it the best novel of 2012? I didn't vote this year, but I probably wouldn't have put it number 1.

I'm happy with the shorter fiction categories. I think that matches my votes exactly. I hadn't read most of the novels, but in my head, based on hearsay, I had 2312 just above Redshirts at the top of the pile. I am happy enough that anything other than the Mira Grant won, and I've now started Redshirts. I wasn't a huge fan of OMW, but I am enjoying this one so far. Fairly short for a modern SF novel, too.

Also, Saga is, in my opinion, the first decent winner in the graphic novel category.
