Small book cover art
Why do some of my .epub's cover art take up a small portion of the screen?
In settings I have it set to full screen. I'm not using Calibre to adjust any settings or even transfer. I'm copying directly to the Kobo via Windows. The cover art image is 525x808 - surely that's big enough for it to take up close to the whole screen at least. It looks fine in ADE and other software and hardware readers. Why does the Kobo have troubles with this? |

I assume you mean the cover displayed on the sleep screen, since you note that you have it set to display full screen. There are two ways to get the covers to always display full size:
1. Use Calibre to transfer the book to the device, with the "Upload covers for books" option set (and possibly the "Keep cover aspect ratio", depending on your preference). or, 2. Edit the book so that the cover is displayed using SVG graphics, with the viewport set to the same size as the image. Most books seem to have been created with the assumption that the screen size is about 600x800, and need some fixing up to look right on larger screens. |
