Since this month's vote resulted in a tie, we are having a Special Run-Off Vote between the two leading candidates. I will not be voting in this poll unless my vote is needed to break a tie. This poll will be open for 3 days, and all MobileRead members are invited to participate. This is a visible, multiple-choice poll. We will start the discussion thread for this book on March 20th. Select from the following Two Choices: In a Sunburned Country by Bill Bryson Amazon US / Barnes & Noble / Sony Spoiler:

Why is this multiple choice? A vote for both is no vote at all.

So where do we go to cast our vote? Ah, never mind. I didn't see the checkable boxes up top, was looking at the bottom of the post.

Well Darn! I was so happy when I saw that In a Sunburned Country was available from my library...then I saw that there is only one copy, which is out. I've placed a hold on it.

I went for Oz because I think it's a better category fit (my opinion only). And because, even though I'm not a huge Bryson fan, I want to read nonfiction.

Well, I voted for a 'sunburned country', as I don't know much about Australia. Also I can recite whole paragraphs of " 20.000 leagues under the sea", as it was my favorite from long ago.
But on paging through Bryson's book, it seems to be more of a travelbook ( but perhaps time will prove me wrong), than a novel. |
