If you still happen to use AvantGo, you can now re-register and get an extra MB (2 -> 3 MB) free.

Good news for those users who still use avantgo. I left them behind about a year ago.

I was going to take advantage of this and slap it on my phone. Too bad they don't have sim card support for mobiles yet. It's still a beastly large app.

Actually, I was bored last night and tried the mobile version out on my cell. They DO let you install to your SIM.
The funny thing is, in perhaps classic Avantgo style, that they automatically sign you up for a bunch of channels like JiWifi and Acela train info. Of course you don't figure this out until after your first sync. Then you need to jump through the hoop of recustomizing, which for me, deleted my original channel choices. So now I'm forced to go back and customize yet again. Perhaps even funnier (sadder?) is that I can't take advantage of the 2 to 3M upgrade. I think it may only apply to the PDA version. |

Have any of you tried the new Plucker (1.8)? As I have written in another thread, I think it's better than iSilo. AND you can set up the synchronization to work the way Avantgo's does, so that each time you synch, the channels are updated. Philippe Radley

Philippe, are you running OS4 or OS5? I remember trying an older beta on my OS4 PDA, and it seemed much slower (scrolling) compared with iSilo.
But then, it wouldn't hurt to give it a try again! |

OS5 on a T3. BTW, the scrolling is absolutely smooth, smoother in fact than iSilo. This version is such an improvement, it's almost as if it were a new program. Philippe Radley

But isn't everything faster on a T3?

Nice, I'll check that out. Advant is really awesome. However, the time it takes to sync up is very long for my liking!
