Favorite Web Browser?
Which web browser is your favorite? Because of Speed, best auto fill, low memory usage, minimalistic design and some other technical stuff.

Opera, which you've failed to list as an option!

At one time or another I have used all of them but I prefer Firefox because there are an infinite number of ways to customize it and I've never had a problem with it.

I Tried using Chrome for a few months and found things not working 100%. I had difficulties with a Wordpress blog when it came to updates. Everything works fine in Firefox. I ended up going back to Firefox again!

Chrome, just because I easily can synchronize my bookmarks among different PCs.
I stopped using Firefox because of memory leaks, but I still use it as a secondary browser when I need one of its handy plug-ins. |

I didn't even know Opera had a browser for computers, I only knew of the mobile one.

I use Firefox, but I wish it weren't such a resource hog sometimes.

I am not going to argue with this statement.
Until 3 year ago, I used IE most of my PC related life, discounting Copernic and Netscape I used in 1996-7-8. So, at that time I knew IE only and its interface was pretty much consistent through all the years. Who got the ideas first I don't know. I do know that I like it and nowdays I like FF more than the latest IEs (8,9). Still both of them have pretty much intuitive and comfortable UI, that relate with my logic while Opera and Chrome don't. Let alone that when Chrome had only started there was no adblock plus... and xmarks add-ons. Blocking ads and synchronising bookmarks across all my computers are top priorities besides intuitive UI. |

My PC recently died and was replaced; my old computer had IE, FF, and Chrome all installed, and I found that I naturally gravitated to using Chrome. The complaint I had about it was that it didn't have a favorites sidebar, so I used a work around plug in that was only slightly more inconvenient than having a sidebar.
When I set up the new system, I initially installed Chrome, but couldn't remember the name of the plug in, so didn't know how to recreate it. The reason I didn't like IE was there was no built in spell checker, but I was able to find a plug in that did the job. Another problem that both Chrome and FF have is that neither of them easily support S/Mime, so they don't have smart card support; and I sometimes need to use sites requiring smart card authentication. So now I just use IE Vs. 9 and it works OK for me. I have since uninstalled Chrome, and never bothered to install FF at all. |

A few months ago I would have said Camino (Mozilla-based browser for Macs) - but it started misbehaving badly on certain websites. Finally tried Chrome, which I like except for it's rather bad habit of sometimes not being able to find websites that I know are working.

Firefox for the add-ons.
Another factor is that I've used it long enough to get to know it, which is another way to say I'm old and stuck in my ways. |
