Forbidden html tags on kindle
<table> inside <table> and <thead>, <tbody> <tfooter> will make the kindle freeze.
Any other "forbidden" tags or characters or things known not to work or cause porblems on the kindle device?

CSS not supported:
setting a font background not supported.
When settting pagebreak for tags in css use "page-break-before: always;"

Characters not supported:
&#x2799; use → instead

Tables have very limited support on the Kindle and should not be used for layout purposes.
The Kindle Publishing Guidelines (pdf), gives examples of how tables can be used (and clearly states that nested tables are not supported). Appendix A list the supported html tags and their attributes.

Combining both of those lists. I can't think of a single supported tag that is missing.
