Extract Covers When Adding Books

When I check 'read metadata from file contents...' I get covers for most of the books. If I uncheck it, I don't get the covers. Is there a way to get the metadata from the filename *and* extract a cover?

I get a better DL of metadata from using filename metadata but sometimes Calibre does something totally unexpected. I find having extracted covers a good check for DLed metadata accuracy. Otherwise I have to get metadata book by book.

But you can extract covers book by book, lots faster than Fetch Metadata.
Metadata editor.
Highlight (the) format, click the book icon to the upper right

You can also use the bulk metadata dialog to extract covers from book files en masse.
