Need help rooting- won't take
Hi all, I hope someone can help me out with this, as I've been doing this over and over for hours and am about to pull my hair out.
I'm trying to root a Nook Classic with a serial beginning 1005 and firmware 1.7. I followed the instructions at nookdevs with init.rc and ratc.bin and everything seemed to work fine, but after supposedly being finished rooting, I can't simply connect with abd and have to go through the entire process all over again. I also tried factory resetting, which got me back to 1.5, and using the nook batch files someone provided here to try and automate the process, but I'm still having no luck. Is there any way to know definitively if it's worked? Can you think of anything I'm doing wrong? I'd love any ideas |

Hi,
I've rooted my Nook 1.7 after quite a few good tries. It turned out that the ratc.bin wasn't executed right the first time (so I had no permission to copy the new init.rc). If you know someone with Linux/Android experience ask them to help you, they can probably explained what went wrong. |
