Fetching News Schedule + exporting them to iTunes automation
Hi all,
The news fetching scheduling is awesome, but is there a way to automate the "send to device" feature so new news are already waiting for my iPad to sync with iTunes? thx in advance, PW |

Click Connect to iTunes when you startup calibre. Downloaded news will then be automatically sent to it. And remeber to leave itunes running.

Kovid - not to be thick but simply open iTunes at the same time as Calibre and Calibre will automatically import your news scheduled into iTunes? Nothing else has to be done or no settings? Sorry, just want to be clear.

You also have to have used the "Connect to iTunes" option in Calibre so that Calibre treats iTunes as the currently connected device.

@chilady1: You will also have to set your output format in calibre to EPUB, not MOBI.

Thanks Kovid for the answer, one last question:
I have made all the changes and it worked GREAT! Was able to fetch news from a few places using the combo of iTunes and Calibre. Now, when I plug in my Kindle to download books again, do I have to change the settings back to .mobi? Or leave the settings as is and Calibre will know to send .mobi files to Kindle? Just curious as to whether I will have to go back and forth between epub for the iPad2 for periodicals and .mobi for Kindle. Thanks again. |
