Enable access to adhoc wifi networks
It appears that the eDGe (like other android devices, from what I understand) cannot see adhoc wifi access points (which show up as computer-to-computer networks on a Windows PC). It would be great if the folks at Entourage could figure out how to enable this functionality.
It would be useful to allow (1) sharing the PC's internet connection and (2) sharing files without needing to connect USB or SD card. Last edited by devseev; 04-09-2010 at 04:08 PM. |

I concur, That would be an excellent feature, as I'm without wireless at the moment and was trying to share the lan-line connection on my laptop to get my edge online. I wish I would've read the forums myself and saved my frustration for something else.

Have there been any new details brought to light on this subject... I was using WMWiFiRouter as well and I can see it on my laptops as well as my iPOD, just need the EE to detect it and life will be perfect...
Thanks, Ben |

I'm using WMWiFiRouter, too, which has been a great help with my laptop, but it doesn't work for my eDGe. I'm hoping the update to Android 2.2 may help, but I haven't seen anything to confirm Android 2.2 will be any different for adhoc networks.

for the short time I had the Pandigital Novel and updated to the latest firmware i was able to use it, but since that update its also stopped working... but thats ok, Im giving it to my daughter she can use it at home and school with wireless...
I am eagerly looking forward to 2.2 also, so now that I have my EE you guys can proceed to push it out as an update =) I did find this link http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=82 so it seems alot of people are screaming for it everywhere... Thanks, Ben |
