New Kindle and test justification
I've just got a new Kindle, and understood that I could choose between justified and left aligned text. But I can't find it in the manual.
Is there a way to choose between justified and left aligned text? Regards, Alex |

Connect the Kindle to your computer via USB an access the folder "system" (it is a hidden folder, blindly type "system" on windows explorer address bar and press enter, or configure windows to show hidden files).
Then access the "com.amazon.ebook.booklet.reader" subfolder and edit the "reader.pref" file (use an editor like editpad pro that preserves unix LF line endings instead of windows notepad which will end lines with CR LF). Set the undocumented option ALLOW_JUSTIFICATION_CHANGE=true Restart the Kindle (home, menu, settings, menu, restart). Now, pressing Aa will show the new justification option. Before/After: |

If you use Calibre, you can install the Kindle Collections plugin (see my signature for the link) which includes a feature to Modify the Justification option on your Kindle. It basically does exactly what PoP described, except it edits the file for you instead of you having to find the right editor to use. You still need to do the restart yourself
Not all books will let you change their justification - you just have to try it and see. |

Not without removing the ugly DRM infestation first, anyway. I hate buying an E-book knowing that by during so I support DRM, sigh. (if brought on Amazon, anyway)

Is there anything like that to add a bold text option, like in Openinkpot?
