Sony USB connectivity = FAIL
Hi folks,
I just recently upgraded to a i7 Macbook Pro and the Sony Reader Library USB connection to the device no longer works. Apparently, the Sony kext/driver is not compiled to support 64-Bit mode which is the default on these new machines. A bit of sleuthing shows the driver only supports "ppc" and "i386" and not "x86_64". The sony_prs.kext will not load due to this. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and did they find a workaround besides using 3rd party tools. Cheers, Erik |

That's a wee Hank scary. I'll keep that in mind when I upgrade mine.
My older MBP poses no problem for my PRS-350, but I store my ePub library on my Samsung netbook because Sony devices tend to play nicest with Windows. Mac software seems always to be a grudging affair for Sony. |
