Another salacious title from the incomparable Ed Lacy. If you're doing doctoral work in Popular Culture, concentrating upon noir thrillers, myseries, and hard-hitting guts-action (haha) paperbacks published during the 50s, then the work of Ed Lacy should definitely be studied (in my opinion).

If academic study pertaining to Popular Culture is not your idea of something you'd like to read, then maybe this description below will be more attractive: You sit on a ratty couch with numerous cigarette burns, the cigarette dangling from your unshaven face like a dead animal caught in a trap. You wipe the sweat from your unshaven face, in the process scattering ashes upon the remnants of a congealed TV dinner lying upon your thighs. A fly buzzes erratically around your face and then gets caught in the potatoes. Unconcerned, you reach for the Ed Lacy paperback, Blonde Bait, that you started that morning. Ahhh, this is the life, you think....

Ok -- was the second one more appealing?? -- hahahaha

Here's the cover blurb:

"She had to buy protection - and her payment was her body."

I hope you enjoy it.

Don
