How to find books with a specific character such as "&"

I have a vast library and I want to identify the books that contain an ampersand symbol (&) in their titles.

However, when I type "&" in the search bar, I am still shown the complete list of books, as if Calibre is unable to distinguish this symbol.

Is there any workaround for this?

Thank you.

You need to use the ‘Character variant’ search type. See the calibre search documentation.

Thank you. The documentation was indeed helpful.

Just in case anybody else have a similar question, the answer is this:

title:"^&"

The Advanced Search feature avoids having to remember specifics of calibre's search term syntax .

I think of it as a Search Assistant.

And FTS is awesome for research, or a writer or programmer, if you select the desired books/texts first, either manually or by the cunning Search or Advanced Search
