Wish keystroke to Wrap/Unwrap lines in the editor
Dear Kovid
Could you add this feature to Calibe editor ? I know that switch exists in Preferences > Editor properties, but it is a bit complicated to access to it. So it would be very pleasant to be able to swap, by a keystroke, wrapping of long lines. TIA and cheers for your masterpiece. JJK |

Have you tried Beautify (the flower icon)?

I suspect the OP wants to be able to enable/disable long lines much like enabling/disabling word wrap in a text editor. As mentioned wrap long lines is currently an option in the editor preferences but the OP seems to want a hot key.
Personally, I prefer wrapping lines so I can see the entire line and I see little need for not wrapping lines other than a desire to make seeing the entire line a pain. |

I dont see a use case for a dedicated shortcut for this. Why do you want to change wrapping often?

FWIW - I use the Toggle Line Wrap Mode option in Sigil's CV context menu when I want to see the structure of the code and how that represents in Preview.

Code:
<p class="paran">As she reached for it, her gaze snagged on the last one in the row, a beautiful blue-green oval with tiny red veins. She’d never seen a gem like it, nor had she seen a carving as…arrogant—that was the word that sprang to mind—as this one held. It featured a dragon, its wings spread and its tail curling around to the back of the gem. Was it meant to portray one of the founder dragons? Or simply one of the wild lesser ones remaining in the world today? Who would have believed themselves worthy of wearing such a gem? What master would have carved it? And what would it <i>do</i>?</p> |

Thank you, Kovid. That is all I wished. So I will be able to change wrapping on the fly.
That is because I often have to modify epub resulting by export from Indesign, and I want to beautify, to clean the ugly code got by Indesign. Often classes or other attibutes are in the beginning of <p> tags, and so the text I want to clean is at the beginnig of each line. When wrap is on I see all the <p> text but the structure of the file is hide, when it is off I see only the text I want to clean, and file structure is visible. Still thank you. |

Ah, the Elephant in the room. Real solution is to ditch Indesign and use docx input.

@Quoth : Yes, I agree, but it is not my choice. Indesign is my only source.

I've edited plenty of InDesign sourced eBooks. It's not that difficult to fix them.
